Many of Vanessa’s ideas stem from information and observations gathered through lived experiences, an interest in world affairs and nature, and her active involvement in grassroots environmental groups.
She is also fascinated by people and faces, using portraiture as a form of visual storytelling, often set against striking graphic backdrops.
Most recently, Vanessa was selected as a finalist in the 2024 Greenway Art Prize, the Portia Geach Memorial Award, and the 2025 Vincent Prize.
